Notch Bulb is a local app. It does not ask you to create an account, and it does not record your screen, microphone, or browsing.

On this Mac

Lamp tone, brightness, flicker, sound, shade messages, and break timing are saved in a settings file in the app’s config folder. They stay on this Mac unless you move or delete that file.

If the cursor shadow is on, the app reads the pointer position to draw a shadow on the glass. That position is used in the moment. It is not saved, and it is not sent anywhere.

Notch Bulb+

Checkout runs through Dodo Payments. When you activate a license, the app sends the license key and this Mac’s computer name to Dodo to turn Plus on. Later checks, and removing the license, send the key again. A copy of the key stays in a local license file so the app can recheck it. Payment details stay with Dodo.

This website

The site does not ask you to sign in, and it does not set analytics cookies. Download opens GitHub. Buying a license opens Dodo Payments.
